It is our policy to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable,
the health and safety of all its staff and workers at
work as well as the general public using our premises.
The measures taken as part of this commitment are designed
to achieve high safety and health standards over and above
compliance with relevant statutory requirements.
2. More specifically, and within the policy stated above,
it is our intention to:
• provide
and maintain plants and systems of work that are
safe and without risks to health; •
identify any hazards that may exist in the ship
scrapping activities, eliminate these wherever possible
and devise procedures to minimize the risks to health
and safety that may arise; •
provide and maintain premises and working environments
for all staff and workers, including means of access
to and egress from such places, that are safe and
without risks to health; •
require the use of such protective clothing and
equipment as is necessary to ensure the health and
safety of its staff and workers; •
provide such information, instruction, training
and supervision as are necessary to ensure the health
and safety of its staff and workers; •
provide safety and health education to staff and
workers so that they leave the workplace with a
positive and responsible attitude towards such matters;
• conduct ship scrapping
activities in such a way as to ensure that members
of the public are not exposed to risks to their
health and safety; •
implement effective measures to monitor the concerted
efforts of all parties concerned to ensure the safety
and health of staff and workers as well as of the
general public visiting our premises;and •
take any other actions that may be considered necessary
in the interests of health and safety. |
3. All responsible personnel, including staff, workers
and contractors, are required to support and actively
participate in the implementing of this Policy.
